Our BNI history… Our Company has been a member of the Belleville BNI Chapter for the past 3 years. We believe we have created invaluable relationships with local business people through BNI. We also feel strongly that BNI has helped promote our business and has helped us develop a better image with prospective clients through our BNI sales & marketing team.
The traditional thoughts or ideas most carry in their mind about the employees and/or owners of an answering service are the scenes from the television programs such as; “Laugh In” or “Saturday Night Live.” Our industry has worked hard to change the image and help owners promote professional services. BNI has been a great tool to help market our services in a professional atmosphere as well as give us an avenue for others (our BNI sales team) to help us market our service. We are thrilled to be part of the greatest BNI Chapter in the Midwest.
The services currently offered to clients range from basic Physicians ‘if no answer’ to state of the art management & tracking services offered to clients who need to be electronically connected to their clients. We can offer services to anyone who needs their telephone answered. We can provide services 24 hours a day or just for an hour or two. We custom fit ALL of our service to suit our clients needs. We have all sorts of web services available as well. If you have a web site and want a link for a live person to answer questions…think of Cal Johnson’s Message Center. If you need a wake up call on a regular basis or maybe just once in awhile….think of Cal Johnson’s Message Center. Our Company history… Cal Johnson’s Message Center was founded by Calvin P. Johnson, a disabled WWII veteran, who returned to his hometown of Belleville with his wife after being injured. Cal had a strong desire to provide an income for his wife and family. He shared his thoughts with a local pharmacist. Together they put together a business plan for Cal to answer calls for local Physicians & Surgeons after office hours. The pharmacist helped market the service to local Doctors and a few local business owners. Hence Cal Johnson’s Answering Service was born on April 15, 1948. This year is our 60th Anniversary.
Sharon Campbell, the current President & CEO of Cal Johnson’s Message center started her career in the industry working for Cal while in College. She worked for Cal & Kathy approx. 11 years or until they decided to retire and encourage Sharon to purchase the service. The purchase or transition was completed in June of 1985. Sharon has since hired her son, Ben and they continue to work & grow the business. The most recent accomplishments are the completion of a 4000 square foot new office building on Canty Lane in Fairview Heights, IL. Sharon is currently President of Great Lakes Telemessaging Association and she will be hosting the GLTSA Spring Supervisors Conference in Fairview Heights, IL.
